But the early stockpiling of general-election money on the Democratic side could be crucial in a potential rematch between Biden and Trump. Four years ago, the Democrat's fundraising edge allowed him to stretch the electoral map on his way to victory in 2020. Small-dollar struggles The latest fundraising reports reveal, again, how difficult candidates not named Trump are finding the task of energizing the GOP grassroots.
