Home care workers are one of many vulnerable groups under attack by the Trump administration.
“This CMS rule is nothing new,” April Verrett, President of SEIU Local 2015, said in a press statement. “When working class people, especially when they’re people of color, learn how to fight and win for what is right, they become a threat to those who don’t want their status quo disrupted… This is just another pathetic attempt to break up the power of our country’s home care workers.”
Though this latest challenge is daunting, these workers — many of whom have also been involved in the“We may not be millionaires but we have people power,” Carmen Roberts, a home care worker and SEIU member from Los Angeles, said in a . “We are a strong union and people like Trump and his millionaire buddies are threatened when we come together and we fight for what we deserve. When we fight, we win. And they don’t like that.”
