Following Donald Trump's 'go back' tweet, a presidential historian said he has earned his place in history as one of America's most racist presidents.
Trump told the four women of color, all American citizens and three of whom were born in the U.S., to"go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."

Meacham cited Johnson's state message that"African-Americans were incapable of self-government and relapsed into barbarism if they weren't closely supervized."
In 1866, Johnson vetoed the Civil Rights Act, but was overridden by Congress and it became law, making him the first president to which this happened. Meacham pushed back against the criticism of Trump that his remarks are un-American, saying the country must take responsibility for the president it elected.
