Despite Sumrall’s departure, Troy could win a third-straight conference championship this year. The Trojans have an excellent roster heading into the new season, and they will be led by first-year head coach Gerad Parker. Notably, Parker was Notre Dame’s offensive coordinator last year, and he helped them score nearly 40 points per game. Due to Parker’s offensive prowess, Troy should remain a strong team within the Sun Belt Conference.
Troy will have to overcome some adversity this year because numerous players graduated and transferred from the team this offseason. Additionally, Troy will play a relatively difficult schedule that features matchups against Iowa and Memphis.
