Used 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition | Crystal Galaxite Black with Exclusive Black & Anthracite Leather/Alcantara | 722 for saleUsed 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition | Crystal Galaxite Black with Exclusive Black & Anthracite Leather/Alcantara | 722 for sale- Ultra Desirable 722 Variant of SLR McLaren - Limited Edition 1 of 150 Worldwide - UK Registered and Taxes Paid - EU Supplied Born out of the partnership McLaren and Mercedes-Benz’s F1 program with Gordon Murray as the chief engineer, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was first introduced in 1999 with the Vision SLR (Sport Light Racing) concept, inspired by the 300SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe. A carbon fibre tub forms the cockpit area with an aluminium subframe to cradle the work of art up front that is the supercharged 5.4L V8 making a monstrous 617bhp. Each body panel is made from carbon fibre, with the SLR being one of the first production cars to feature carbon ceramic brakes and the first production car to utilise a full carbon fibre monocoque. Limited to only 150 examples, the 722 Edition was built to commemorate Mercedes-Benz famous 1955 Millie Miglia victory. The winning 300SLR race car was numbered 722 (due to the 7:22am start time) and was piloted by Stirling Moss and his co-driver Dennis Jenkinson. The 722 Edition catered for the demands of a 'sportier' SLR with a 44kg weight reduction, a 10mm lower ride height and a power boost to 641bhp. New 19-inch wheels were developed to fit larger carbon-ceramic brakes whilst a new carbon fibre splitter helped create more downforce and a more aggressive airbrake to aid braking stability at higher speeds. Additionally, the interior featured extensive use of carbon fibre and alcantara replacing the leather and aluminium trims creating a much more performance focused cabin. With it's rivals of the same generation such as the Enzo and Carrera GT taking off in value so considerably, the SLR McLaren currently represents excellent value. With the added exclusivity and breathtaking performance of the 722 Edition, we believe this to be a superb opportunity to acquire a true collectible and a modern classic. Optional Extras: 19' Forged Aluminium Wheels Painted in Palladium Grey with Rim in Silver Crystal Galaxite Black Metallic Paint Spo
