A carbon fibre tub forms the cockpit area with an aluminium subframe to cradle the work of art up front that is the supercharged 5.4L V8 making a monstrous 617bhp. Additionally, the interior featured extensive use of carbon fibre and alcantara replacing the leather and aluminium trims creating a much more performance focused cabin. With it's rivals of the same generation such as the Enzo and Carrera GT taking off in value so considerably, the SLR McLaren currently represents excellent value.
