Viral TikTok challenge becomes an even bigger headache for owners of affected Hyundai Kia products.
, and some stickers—no, we're not kidding. It's not clear how much of a difference those solutions are making but according to a report from NBC News, neither is good enough for insurance companies State Farm and Progressive.
The report says that due to the sudden spike in theft, both State Farm and Progressive have halted any new policies on certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles. We reached out to both insurance companies for confirmation, and so far Progressive has not responded.
We take seriously our responsibility to manage risk and the impact of excess claim costs on all our customers. In this case, it became necessary to take action to protect our policyholders and our business.We followed up with State Farm to see if they would say specifically what model years and trim levels of Hyundai and Kia vehicles are excluded from new insurance policies and what states the exclusions apply to but we're still waiting on a response.
