Welch, 48, can now walk on his own and only uses oxygen on occasion. He’s back at work part time with plans to return to full time in April. Welch’s wife Emily and their four children are also returning to a regular routine. Experts say paths to recovery from the years of living with COVID-19 will be uniquely individual, despite the fact that the virus has touched everyone. Some want to forget the pandemic in its entirety, while others are struggling to find their way in a world without loved ones who died. There is no right way to move forward, as long as you’re still moving.
