Three teens shot near Prairie View A&M University Sunday morning, police say
Prairie View police say they're investigating a shooting that took place early Sunday morning near Prairie View A&M University.Three teenagers, including a university freshman, were shot at an off-campus party near Prairie View A&M University early Sunday morning, according to authorities and the university.
Deputies with the Waller County Sheriff's Department heard gunshots near Pine Island Road and Windmill Road around 1:30 a.m., according to initial reports. Officers from the Prairie View Police Department also responded. Nearby, officials found an 18-year-old woman who had been shot and a 19-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck later was found at a nearby Fuel Maxx gas station. Another 18-year-old woman who had been shot also was located.
All three teens were in serious condition and they were flown by air ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to authorities. The shooting happened at an off-campus party, Prairie View A&M representatives said in a statement. At least one of the teenagers was a freshman at the school, according to the statement.The shooting remains under investigation by the Prairie View Police Department.
