Three beach water warnings lifted, two beaches have new advisories due to unclean water [Breaking]
Three beaches that were under a water safety advisory are safe to swim in again, and two beaches are under a new advisory issued Wednesday by the county Department of Environmental Health and Quality.
The department lifted a warning for Imperial Beach, Silver Strand and Coronado. “Recent water quality samples meet State health standards,” it said in a statement. It issued new advisories for Shelter Island and San Dieguito River Outlet, citing bacterial levels that could make swimmers sick.Ongoing high bacterial levels continue to make beaches in La Jolla unsafe to swim in: La Jolla Cove, Tidelands Park and the Children’s Pool.
The shoreline from the U.S.-Mexico border to the south end of Seacoast Drive in Imperial Beach will stay closed until samples confirm the water is safe to swim in again.
