Alas, it was too good to be true for many fans that didn't act fast enough. The newly hyped and launched chicken sandwich at—speared by a massive social media campaign—sold out in just six days, leaving customers disgruntled. Dallas-based Wingstop, which has about 1,600 units in the United States and is 98% franchised, sold more than 1 million of their new chicken sandwiches in those first six days before declaring themselves totally out of the product, according toThe sandwich had been previously tested in 60 restaurants in Ohio, California, Nevada, and Florida, before being rolled out nationally.
