An online map points to urban fruit trees ripe for the picking, some of which are growing on private property but hanging into the public right of way. 'Why not share?' organizers say.

Remember our long chilly spring, when we were wondering if summer would ever come? Well, welcome to August, where the heat just keeps coming. There are still plenty of plant-related activities listed below, but first, I'd like to revisit a question we asked earlier this year about whether it's ever OK to take fruit from someone else's tree.

The event includes a lunchbox of nostalgic camp foods and an 'adult juice box' of wine. Participants must be 21 or older.
