People have heard the story all around, that as it gets to the end of the month, cops are out and waiting to write more tickets.
CINCINNATI -
“You look at social media and somebody will get a speeding ticket and say, 'Well, it’s the end of the month, I guess they’re trying to meet their quota,” said Cincinnati FOP President Ken Kober."I’m sure there are small agencies around Ohio and the country that try to base some of their traffic enforcement around revenue,” said Kober.
“ departments would do 20 or 25 years ago is they would set goals for you to reach each month, write so many tickets, so many arrests, so many parking tickets,” said Kober. “I think it’s an antiquated philosophy, and hopefully people aren’t doing it anymore. This bill will eliminate it,” said State Rep. and Former Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer.“Get out of your cruiser, go and see your community, talk to them. They’ll tell you what’s going on if you build that relationship,” said Plummer.
