As part of Women's History Month, each week you'll hear from one of the women who tellI was back in my Northern Ontario hometown for a visit about 20 years ago when I ran into a high school sweetheart at the local ski hill. Chatting on the chairlift, he asked what I was doing. I said I get to travel around the world and write about cars. He laughed and said,"No, really, what do you do?"I wouldn't have believed it either.

Auto journalism is still a male-dominated field, but there are definitely more women today than when I started. They are smart, they are strong. They are prepared and conscientious. The need to do it better to be equal has not gone away, but the playing field is more level.
