The Wire creator David Simon asks that one of the men involved in Michael K. Williams’ death be given some leniency. Running from 2002 to 2008, the HBO series explores a variety of Baltimore institutions ranging from dockworkers to politicians to journalists, and their various ties to both law enforcement and criminal empires in the city. One of the most beloved actors on the show was Williams, who played stick-up man Omar Little and was considered one of The Wire's breakout stars.

But I know that Michael would look upon the undone and desolate life of Mr. Macci and know two things with certainty: First, that it was Michael who bears the fuller responsibility for what happened.
