The series finale of The Office originally planned on introducing Michael Scott's children. After leaving the series in 2011, Steve Carell returned for its series finale in 2013, where Michael was the best man at Dwight Schrute's wedding. Throughout the series, Michael often talked about how important it was for him to one day become a parent.
