The most surprisingly sad part of the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special was headed by none other than funnyman Adam Sandler. Sandler took the stage with his guitar to pay tribute to a group of his friends and former Saturday Night Live cast members during the SNL 50 live special. Sandler was one of dozens of former cast members, special guests, and celebrated former SNL hosts to show up in support of the 50-year legacy of the longest-running comedy sketch show on television.

Sandler was the perfect person to add sentimentality with an air of levity to the SNL 50 live special.
