Summary Din Djarin 's helmet has long since been central to the story of The Mandalorian, but things took an unexpected turn in season 3 that made it seem as if everything related to his helmet would be closed off for good - and this is not the case. The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 often present Din Djarin's helmet rule, which forbids him from removing his helmet in front of other living things, as an obstacle, with him even almost dying because of this rule on one occasion.
Grogu Can't Get A Mandalorian Helmet Concealing His Face Would Ruin The Story Close The surprising reason why Din Djarin's own helmet arc will have to return is because of Grogu. Ironically, The Mandalorian season 3 has set itself up for this in-universe, as it's explained by both Din and the Armorer that Grogu cannot swear the Creed and get his Mandalorian helmet because he cannot talk. This means that, in theory, Grogu will get his helmet once he can talk.
Grogu Grogu is a former Jedi youngling who is now training as a Mandalorian apprentice under his adopted father, Din Djarin. A survivor of Order 66, Grogu was hunted by the Empire for his blood amidst their cloning experimentation. Rescued by Din after initially being his bounty, Grogu went on to be trained briefly by Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Padawan, but has ultimately chosen the path of the Mandalorians instead to remain with his father.
Din Djarin Din Djarin was once a lone bounty who has since tasked himself with raising his adopted son and Mandalorian apprentice, Grogu. Born on Aq Vetina and raised on Concordia by the Mandalorian faction the Children of the Watch, Din is an orphan and Mandalorian foundling who has risked both his life and his Mandalorian Creed to protect Grogu.
