In an interview with TV Insider, Jordan addressed the possibility of bringing The Decameron back for season 2. The creator offers a candid response in the quote below, giving some insight into how the story could move forward and evolve in the future. Jordan says, in part, that “there is a version in the future that’s more of an anthology”:

That May Have More To Do With The Show's Success Close Befitting the fact that the comedy centers around a deadly plague, The Decameron ends with notably fewer characters than it starts off with. In ways that are funny and, at other times, just a little bit brutal, the wealthy characters populating the Netflix series succumb to the surrounding circumstances. One character, for example, is trapped in a barrel and set on fire.
