The 2023 Emmy Awards have officially set a date for next year's broadcast.
may all be Emmy winners by the time voting concludes at the end of this month, but we’ll have to wait until mid-January to find out for sure. The Fox network announced on Thursday morning that the Emmy Awards will air on Monday, January 15, with the Creative Arts Emmys scheduled for two nights over the previous weekend, January 6 and 7.
The delay, of course, is due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, which would make it impossible for the vast majority of nominees to attend the main Emmys broadcast.that the ceremony would likely move to January, with reports that the Television Academy was hoping to air the show in November or December, while the nominated shows feel a bit fresher.
Despite all of this the show, in many ways, is going on. Emmy voting will open August 17, and the contenders who are still able to give interviews are making the rounds, even with many of the glitzier voting events on hold. Voting will close on August 28, and the results will presumably be kept in a locked box somewhere until the January ceremonies.
