The cost of a Texas State Parks Pass , which grants unlimited day use of all 88 state parks for a year, is increasing on Sept. 1. Those wanting to purchase a pass at its current price of $70 have less than two months to buy one. On Sept. 1, the price of an annual parks pass will jump to $95, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It’s the second such price increase since the program’s inception in 2004.

Big Bend is the fifth most dangerous national park, according to new study “Summer is the perfect time to explore new parks and possibly have new experiences with family and friends,” Kreindler said in a statement. “If you’ve always thought about investing in a park pass, this is the perfect time to do it!” The Youth Group Annual Pass is also seeing a price increase, from $100 to $150 on Sept. 1.
