Democratic Reps. Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez won reelection Tuesday, helping Democrats maintain their number of Texas seats in Congress.

Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, won reelection Tuesday, overcoming federal indictments and dashing Republican hopes of flipping his South Texas seat.
A federal grand jury indicted Cuellar and his wife Imelda Cuellar in May on 14 charges of participating in schemes involving bribery, illegal foreign influence and money laundering. They were accused of accepting almost $600,000 bribes from an oil and gas company controlled by the former Soviet republic Azerbaijan and from a Mexico City-based bank.Cuellar has maintained his innocence. The Houston federal court overseeing his case has yet to set a trial date.
