Gregg Popovich, the winningest coach in NBA history, with five NBA championships and a turn leading the USA Basketball Men’s team to an Olympic title, was made a finalist.Longtime Spurs point guard Tony Parker, a key to four of the Spurs’ five championships and a four-time All-NBA pick, was also made a finalist.
There is even the potential that one of Popovich’s former assistant coaches will join him, though Becky Hammon was made a finalist as a player for her years as a four-time All-Star with the New York Liberty and San Antonio Stars.
