Senior middle linebacker Jaylan Ford is coming off an All-American campaign and will lead a position group flush with talented newcomers.
Who’s gone
Losing both Ford and All-Big 12 first team weakside linebacker DeMarvion Overshown would have sapped much of the punch from coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense. Now, Ford has settled in as the leader of the linebacking unit after recording a team-high 119 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles and four interceptions in 2022.
The top-ranked linebacker in the nation, Denton Ryan’s Anthony Hill already looks like an impact player. He recorded 303 tackles, 13 sacks and nine forced fumbles over three years at Ryan.
