Tesla has officially rolled out a refreshed version of the Model Y in China, featuring new interior upgrades and improved features.

With the latest unveiling, Telsa has given a major facelift to its most popular electric car, first introduced in 2019.

The new Model Y from Tesla comes in two configurations: rear-wheel drive and long range all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version starts at just under $36,000, offering an affordable option for the popular vehicle.on Tesla’s website in China, as well as other Asia-Pacific markets, with deliveries scheduled for March. As of now, there is no official announcement on when the model will be rolled out in the US and Europe., Tesla’s autonomous vehicle design.

Tesla states that the new design offers a wider field of view for automatic assisted driving and advanced smart summon. The automaker also highlighted an updated wheel and tire package, claiming it improves handling and grip.features a sunroof with a silver-plated coating and 16 speakers. A notable update is the addition of a steering-column-mounted turn signal stalk, which was not present in the previous model.

Another notable feature of the Tesla Model Y is its trunk, which offers a capacity of 2,130 liters with the rear seats folded, about 100 liters more than the previous model. The new Juniper also includes Tesla’s latest AI4-assisted driving hardware, with the full self-driving system expected to be available in China later this year.

Furthermore, Xpeng senior designer Rafik Ferrag also pointed to the resemblance with an Instagram post saying he believes Tesla is “paying tribute” to Xpeng’s design with the new redesign. Xpeng has experienced a 34% increase in vehicle deliveries in 2024, while Tesla’s deliveries have dropped by 1%. The G7 is also expected to become one of Tesla’s top competitors to the Model Y in China, its most crucial market.
