RetaiL GIANT Tesco has issued an urgent "do not eat" warning to customers following a product recall.
One of the supermarket's popular cheese products has been taken off the shelves amid fears that it could contain pieces of plastic. Tesco Creamfields Grated Cheddar has been recalled as a precautionary measure and anyone who has bought the item has been urged to return it to their nearest store. A notice published on the store's website states that packs of Tesco Creamfields Grated Cheddar 500g with a best before date reading 23/03/23 may contain "small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat", the Mirror reports.Shoppers returning the item will be issued a full refund. No receipt is required for the refund to be processed.
The Tesco notice reads: "We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g. This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat. "Please do not consume this product and instead return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."Last week, the supermarket giant also issued a product recall for 55g pots of Tesco Free From Golden Syrup Porridge with a best before date of September 1 2023 as some packs "may contain milk". This poses a health risk to anyone allergic or intolerant to milk products.
