The radio host has dedicated her platform to uplifting and informing Hispanics and Latinos in the binational region

Mery López-Gallo, raised in Tijuana and San Diego, began her professional career as a radio host 25 years ago at TelevisaUnivision, when she was given the opportunity to produce and host her own radio show after starting as an copywriter at the station. She can be heard on Que Buena 106.5 regional Mexican music station and on Amor 102.9 with her show 'De Viva Voz,' from 7 to 8:30 a.m.

'You realize that all cultures want the same thing: health, wellness and education,' López-Gallo said. She has also received proclamations and awards for her work in the community, such as the KPBS Local Hero Award in 2008. She has also been recognized for her Hispanic representation in San Diego by Father Joe's Villages when it named her the face of the Latino community in one of its campaigns; and in 2019, when the San Diego Padres presented her with the Comunidad Award.
