U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz on Saturday warned Texas Republicans that his matchup with U.S. Rep. Colin Allred could be a repeat of his near-loss to Beto O’Rourke in 2018. Cruz told delegates at the state party’s convention in San Antonio that Democrats in D.C. have “put a bullseye on the state of Texas ” and plan to spend heavily to oust him. Cruz is seen as one of the few vulnerable Republicans in the Senate this election cycle.
