According to a police report, the deputy and police officers responded to a report of a burglary on Thanksgiving night.
Joe Urias, 34, was arrested after law enforcement officers responded to a report of a burglary at an elementary school on Thanksgiving night and reported finding him naked inside a classroom.
According to a Port St. Lucie Police Department report, the deputy and police officers responded to a report of a burglary on Thanksgiving night at Windmill Point Elementary School. When they arrived at the K-5 school around 9:30 p.m., the deputy reported seeing the man, identified as Joe Urias, without any clothes on and still in the school.
Back in the classroom, law enforcement reported finding marijuana in addition to sex toys, as well as a makeshift place to sleep and clothes, including women’s underwear. Urias was booked into the St. Lucie County jail on counts that included lewd and lascivious behavior, burglary, possession of marijuana, and battery of a law enforcement officer.In its post, school officials described the individual as a ‘former teacher.’ They went on to assure families that it is cooperating with law enforcement on its investigation and will offer support to families who need it.
