After 25 years at the corner of Rush and Bellevue, Tavern on Rush will close at the end of 2022.
Tavern's owners said the landlord has decided not to renew the restaurant's lease.Tavern — as it's simply known — has been a neighborhood fixture and a restaurant so popular, it's hard to imagine Gold Coast dining without it.
"We love this restaurant," echoed her husband, Jerry. "We love the people. We love Benny and the people who take care of this restaurant, and it's been a wonderful place for us to come."
