The Target store will be 111,000 square feet, according to the retailer’s website, and will add another grocery option for area residents.
Target has been expanding its private-label foods and its overall grocery business over the past few years.It will be in the center of the property, just left of LA Fitness on a pad that originally was going to be a movie theater.
“Once the theater fell through, we took a step back to the drawing board and this opportunity came up with Target,” Milke said. Wynnewood has more than 80 businesses located on the property and draws 7.5 million visitors annually, according to Brixmor. Other national retailers at the center include Ross Dress for Less, Skechers and Foot Locker.
Target hasn’t been building stores in this market for a while, although it has recently started again. A Target is under construction in Prosper at U.S. Highway 380 and Preston Road. That’s the first store Target has built in North Texas since 2018.
