The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Street. Three hours later, tactical officers remained at the scene, surrounding the home.
A man barricaded himself inside a Harrisburg home Saturday after a shooting that injured three people, including a child, according to police.A witness said his friend was shot on the street before the suspect kicked in a door, and shot a woman and a little girl inside. The girl was shot in the feet, said the witness, who identified himself as Steve Stephens and said he lives on the block. He said the wounded woman was the mother of the girl.
Police blocked off a block in each direction with yellow police tape and police vehicles to secure the ongoing crime scene. Two officers with a ballistic shield approached the home about 3:30 p.m., then slowly backed away. Stephens said he was out on his porch when he first heard loud gunfire. He wasn’t initially worried because he said he hears gunfire regularly.“I said, ‘What’s wrong?’ and he said, ‘I’ve been shot,’” Stephens said.
