A suspect who was reportedly involved in a police shooting in Montebello has barricaded himself inside an apartment, prompting evacuations in nearby neighborhoods, sources say.
A large police presence was spotted Tuesday afternoon near the 700 block of Via Altamira, close to the 60 Freeway.

Sources told Eyewitness News officers with the Long Beach Police Department were in the Montebello area to surveil two suspects. It's unclear what prompted the shooting but sources said one of the suspects was struck. His condition remains unknown.
The second suspect reportedly ran into an apartment, barricading himself inside. Sources said apartment complexes in the area have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.This is a developing story. This article will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
