Among the new findings in the SFMTA’s latest ridership satisfaction survey: A higher share of respondents are taking trips for entertainment and recreation than to work or school
A majority of Muni riders say they ride the San Francisco public-transit service for entertainment and recreation, while less than half do so to commute to work or school.
Forty-eight percent of the surveyed riders used Muni to commute to work or go to school , compared to 52% who said they ride Muni when eating out, socializing, and seeking recreation or entertainment. Thirty-eight percent indicated they ride Muni for shopping, while 28% said they did for personal or medical appointments.
About two-thirds of riders said they rode Muni at least once a week, which is slightly higher than 2022’s share . She added that the agency’s “staff has been putting in the work across the board and the proof is in these results.”
