Vaccine hesitancy may have ramped up during the pandemic, but it’s not a new phenomenon, experts say. There are a few key distinctions between the COVID-19 vaccines and the MMR vaccines that could affect perceptions, Creech said. “For the majority of the adults, it’s probably been decades since they’ve had an MMR vaccine, or years since their child had one. And as the days go by, we don’t remember those feelings of achiness as much.”
