The US Supreme Court has agreed to review a law banning TikTok in the US unless it is sold. The law, which faces a constitutional challenge from TikTok, would force the app to shut down if not divested from its parent company, ByteDance. The court will hear arguments on January 10th, just nine days before the deadline. While lawmakers cite national security concerns, TikTok argues the ban violates free speech rights of its 170 million American users.
