Summary The Flash failed to make an impact when it was released in theaters in Summer 2023, making even less than 1978's Superman. Following an entire DC Universe that had been met with mixed reception, the studio initially had a great deal planned for the much-delayed film. Using multiversal storytelling pulled from the comic book story Flashpoint,The Flash was intended to reboot the DC Extended Universe with the introduction of Michael Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's Supergirl.
