David Corenswet as Superman with Krypto

At New York Comic Con, James Gunn has offered an update on the progress of Superman , his take on how great new Man of Steel actor David Corenswet is, and teased when DC fans can expect the first trailer:
It's been a great process. The edit is getting really close to being good. The movie's good. I feel good about it. Don't get too excited... There's no trailer, no Superman trailer. I have some stuff on my phone. I had it taken off me in case people attacked me... It won't be too long until we see a trailer, but it's also not going to be too soon."
Superman is set to release in July 2025, giving DC and Gunn 8 months to complete the movie and kick off what will no doubt be an intensive marketing campaign. Gunn's comments about David Corenswet's performance as Superman will feed into that hype campaign, particularly given the director's tenure in the MCU and the action performances he's already overseen. Calling out both Corenswet and co-star Frank Grillo is eye-opening.
