SupermanAndLois star Chad L. Coleman teases fans may actually root for his season 3 villain, Bruno Mannheim. 'I have a pretty darn good resume, so to say the least, this is the best role for me that I've ever had. The scale of this guy.'
Superman & Lois season 3 villain actor Chad Coleman says that fans may actually root for Bruno Mannheim. Clark Kent and Lois Lane are getting a new threat in Superman & Lois season 3, and a rather grounded one this time around. After taking on Ally Allston, a.k.a. Parasite, in the latest season, Bruno, a.k.a. the Intergang leader, is coming into play, having been name-dropped in the Superman & Lois season 2 finale as being responsible for killing this Earth's John Henry Irons.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Coleman, who was cast as Bruno in September, is no stranger to the Arrowverse, having already appeared in Arrow season 5 as Tobias Church. With Superman & Lois taking place on a different Earth in the Arrowverse, it's a clean slate for Coleman as he portrays the DC foe. In an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta, The Walking Dead alum spoke about joining The CW drama as another supervillain.
I have a pretty darn good resume, so to say the least, this is the best role for me that I've ever had. The scale of this guy. Honestly, the scale of this man is incredible. He's not to be messed with. This is gonna be a thrill ride. Love him, hate him, but it's not the typical villain. He's very layered. And you root for this man because he makes a lot of sense, and he's done a lot of amazing things to transform South Metropolis and so you just get to take this thrill ride.
Even though it's not a new character, Jonathan Kent will have a different actor playing him this season. Jordan Elsass exited the Arrowverse drama at the end of season 2, forcing Superman & Lois in having to recast the part. Michael Bishop was officially cast earlier in the year and will make his debut in the season 3 premiere. Lois won't be the only one investigating Bruno, as John Henry Irons will also look into him to find out why his doppelgänger was murdered.
The biggest question surrounding Superman & Lois at the moment is whether or not the series will be back after season 3. 2022 was a rough year for the Arrowverse as The CW canceled several shows, leaving only The Flash and Superman & Lois for 2023. With the new regime behind The CW, the network wants to target a different demographic, and the DC brand may not have a large role in its strategy.
