Shootings across the nation has marred the Presidents Day weekend as law enforcement officers in major cities and rural areas investigated separate violent episodes.

On Monday evening, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced that Carlos Medina, the 65-year-old husband of O'Connell's housekeeper, was arrested in the murder probe. The suspected gunman, Richard Dale Crum, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, according to the Tate County Sheriff's Office.
