Strawberry season is about two weeks early in Northeast Ohio. Local berries will be gone sooner this year.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – If you appreciate the intense flavors of ripe, local strawberries, hurry to the farm market. The season started early and will end early this year.
“We had an early spring. It started in March. It never stopped,” Patterson says. “We like to have have berries until the 4th of July. We don’t know if we’ll make it to the 20th of June. The cool weather that’s forecast for this weekend is what we need. If we get another hot spell, they could be done.”
Patterson’s pick-your-own location is at 8765 Mulberry Road, Chesterland. Patterson’s Farm Market is at 11414 Caves Road, Chesterland.
