Monsters, puberty, romance and more menace Stranger Things fans can expect from Season 3, straight from the premiere
Intense monsters, menacing rats, puberty, and awkward new romances are the latest troubles the teens of Hawkins, Indiana will face in, the third installment of Netflix’s 80s throwback sci-fi hit. , who plays telekinetic Eleven, at the show’s world premiere in Santa Monica, California, on Friday. “It definitely gets very deep and emotional. It’s even scarier than the other seasons.” For the extravagant screening, Netflix transformed the premiere’s venue, Santa Monica High School, into the fictional Hawkins High from the series—complete with a marching band, cheerleaders and hundreds of screaming fans waiting to get a glimpse of the cast and filmmakers. Following the screening, guests traveled to the Santa Monica Pier, which was converted into a retrofair.
As for the gang’s other main couple, Lucas and Max, the two are still dating as well. But their relationship status may be getting to Lucas’s head. “Lucas was lucky enough to get Max as his girlfriend, and now he thinks he’s the ladies man,” said McLaughlin, 17. “He thinks he knows everything, but really he messes up a lot with her. He accidentally says not so nice things about her, and does the wrong things. He really likes her, though.

He’s not ready to grow up,” said Schnapp, 14. “Everyone else wants to talk about dating, and he has a hard time adjusting to that. I think what Will is going through is so relatable. The whole world goes through that when we grow up. It’s true to many people, and he makes people not feel alone. I think that’s cool. But, I feel like throughout the season, Will has gets more mature.
