Storm chances to increase, temps to decrease by the weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The combination of some warm air near the surface, a weak stalled out warm front, and a lake breeze should drive an isolated shower or storm this afternoon.

This will likely occur late in the afternoon and early in the evening, existing between I-76/US-224, and I-480/the Turnpike corridors. Temperatures will climb to near 80, thanks to a southerly wind; however, because this wind will be weak, expect cooler conditions near the lake, as the lake breeze develops. This will allow temperatures to surge back into the upper 70s and lower 80s for most locations!

For most of the day, we should be dry; however, we’re looking at another isolated storm chance in the afternoon. The good news is that this storm threat should mostly come after sunset. Rain should clear the area by Saturday morning, though some lingering drizzle will be likely over the area as well. Clouds and drizzle should be in place all day on Saturday, with northerly winds keeping temperatures into the 50s.

While this cloudiness will clear by Sunday afternoon, continued northerly winds will keep temps in the 50s for Sunday as well. It should be a fairly breezy day as well, as temperatures return into the lower and middle 70s. By Tuesday afternoon, most of the region should be cleared, with a brisk northwesterly wind keeping us into the 60s.

Some isolated showers will be possible through the day on Wednesday as well, with continued northwesterly flow keeping temperatures into the mid 60s.
