Stock futures are up slightly as Wall Street looks to build on winning week

"All told, this was about as dovish a rate increase as you can get. On the whole, that seemed to leave markets feeling if not good, then at least not bad," said Brad McMillan, chief investment officer for Commonwealth Financial Network. "Although markets were okay with the Fed, it was the second thing — the ongoing turmoil in the banking system — that mattered even more."

In the week ahead, investors will likely continue watching the banking sector for indicators of potential weakness. They will also watch Monday for the Dallas Fed meeting survey and post-bell commentary on monetary policy from Fed Gov. Philip Jefferson.Despite choppy trading as investors weighed the last interest rate hike and the fate of banks, the major indexes and U.S. bank shares finished the week in the green.
