: I can agree with the writer’s frustration over the state rules overriding San Diego’s coastal building height limit. Any whiff of the mantra ‘”build more housing” and the respect for codes, regulations, laws and precedents is easily cast aside. Given Mayor Todd Gloria’s robust interest in expanded housing, all the long-term consequences are just pesky impediments. Experts in housing have long zeroed in on the reality that you can’t build your way out of the housing shortfall.
