The odds of the Spurs snapping their season-high three game losing streak on Sunday increased when the team's medical staff cleared Victor Wembanyama to return to the court. The Spurs upgraded Wembanyama from probable to active for the outing against the New Orleans Pelicans after he completed his pregame routine. The star center had missed the last two games due to a sore lower back. Wembanyama leads the Spurs in scoring , rebounding and blocked shots .
The Spurs also welcomed back Devin Vassell, who sat out Friday night's 140-113 loss to Sacramento for injury management after his offseason foot surgery. Wembanyama should have an immediate, welcome impact on the Spurs' defense. Their last two opponents have set season highs for points against the Spurs, with Chicago scoring 139 on Friday night.
