Spirit Music Latino has acquired the assets of Prodemus Colombia, one of the oldest and largest independent music publishers in Colombia and Latin America.
The deal includes timeless cumbia and vallenato songs such as “La Gota Fria,” “Una Hoja en Blanco” and “Los Caminos de la Vida.”
Spirit Music Latino, a division of Spirit Music Group dedicated to Latin songwriters, artists and catalogs, announced Wednesday it has acquired the assets of Prodemus Colombia,can exclusively reveal. Prodemus Colombia is one of the oldest and largest independent music publishers in Colombia and Latin America, consisting of approximately 12,500 compositions.
Established over 40 years ago, Prodemus Colombia is home to timeless cumbia and vallenato songs such as “La Gota Fria,” “Una Hoja en Blanco” and “Los Caminos de la Vida,” to name a few. The Latin music catalog also owns the rights to the majority of songs by salsa group “This deal is consistent with our strategy of building a world-class Latin division,” said, Spirit Music Latino co-founder, in a press statement.
