Meet Ben Reilly!
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available. A new Spider-Man is joining the world of live-action.
The world of Marvel's web-slinger is heading to the small screen, as Prime Video has released the final Spider-Noir trailer for Nicolas Cage's upcoming TV show. Check it out below: While most live-action projects for the web-slinger have centered on Peter Parker, that won't be the case for Cage's Marvel adventure. Instead, the Hollywood star will be playing Marvel's Ben Reilly in Spider-Noir, who operates under the name The Spider, in this universe.
Cage previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in the animated Spider-Verse franchise, which comes from Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The creative duo is also executive producing Spider-Noir, marking it a reunion between them and the actor. Set in the 1930s, the Spider-Noir TV show follows a grittier take on the Marvel icon, as Ben has to become the famous crime fighter once again. Oren Uziel developed the series and serves as showrunner with The Punisher's Steven Lightfoot.
The Spider-Noir cast will also feature several Spider-Man villains from the comics, with Abraham Popoola playing Lonnie Lincoln, a.k.a. Tombstone, while Brendan Gleeson has been tapped to play Silvermane. Jack Huston has also boarded the series as Flint Marko, a.k.a. Sandman, while Andrew Lewis Caldwell will recur as Dirk Leydon, a.k.a.
Megawatt. Spider-Noir is arriving only two months before Tom Holland is making his Marvel Cinematic Universe return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Similar to Cage's TV series, the MCU timeline will feature Tombstone, as Marvin Jones III will portray him in the Phase 6 installment.
Catch Spider-Noir season 1 on MGM+ in the United States, starting on Monday, May 25, before it gets released on Wednesday, May 27 worldwide on Prime Video, as the Marvel series will be available in black and white, as well as in color.
