After weeks of teasing, Marvel has revealed the next epic Spider-Man hero: a webslinger called Spider-Boy. But this has nothing to do with the Spider-Verse: he's 'been here all along and starred in some of the greatest stories in Spider-Man history.'
After weeks of teasing Marvel Comics has finally revealed the exciting new Spider-Man character set to make his debut appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man #7. But who is Spider-Boy?
Bailey's Spider-Boy will debut in Spider-Man #7 - from Spider-Man legends Dan Slott and Mark Bagley - and his story will continue in both Spider-Man and Edge of Spider-Verse #3, where his history, origins, and unique powers will be revealed. The gorgeous "Top Secret Spoiler Variant Cover" by Humberto Ramos for Spider-Man #7 reveals Bailey's awesome look, featuring a color scheme and design reminiscent of Spider-Man 2099, plus some killer sneakers.
Dan Slott reveals Spider-Boy will have a "unique role" in both Spider-Man's life and the entire Marvel Universe, explaining that, "He's got strange new spider-powers, secret ties to dark corners of Spider-Man lore, and a story that's all his own." Spider-Boy's introduction in Spider-Man #7 will come at a climactic time, as the upcoming issue is the finale to the "End of the Spider-Verse" plot that has been unraveling since Spider-Man #1.
