Japanese billionaire who funded SpaceX Starship mission to fly artists around the moon canceled the project.
As the sun set on Starbase before Starship ’s third flight in March, Rhiannon Adam stood on the tidal flat staring at the giant rocket, imagining her upcoming mission to create art on a journey around the moon. The Irish photographer living in England was one of eight creatives set to join Japanese billionaire and art collector Yusaku Maezawa on his “dearMoon” project — which was planned as the first private mission around the moon.

Don’t let this dream die with dearMoon.” She said she doesn’t blame SpaceX. “I’ll still be watching each launch closely and cheering on from the sidelines,” she wrote ahead of the June launch.
