The addition of Auburn transfer Robby Ashford made for extremely interesting offseason. Especially considering they promised him an open competition.
The South Carolina Gamecocks entered the 2024 offseason with a known hole, having lost two-year starting QB Spencer Rattler to the NFL Draft. Filling the vacancy left by Rattler was presumed to be a foregone conclusion with LaNorris Sellers being the future of the offense. However, the addition of Auburn transfer QB Robby Ashford made things just a bit more interesting.
“I talked to them really early in the portal. They were in my top . They told me, ‘We need a guy to come here that has experience. And you not only have experience, but SEC experience. Just coming in here as an older guy, it’s just an opportunity to compete.”
